These aren't your average outdoor enthusiasts, they treat the Kruger Park like their backyard and experience full-blown withdrawal if they haven't seen a kudu in 48 hours.

They try to identify a bird by its poop and have been known to slam on the brakes in traffic shouting, “IS THAT A BAT-EARED FOX?!” (It's not... It's a dog. It's always a dog.)

Their signature scent? Eau de Campfire - with delicate notes of Tabard and biltong. Their idea of luxury is a tent with a working zip and an ice-cold Castle or G&T in hand, while hyenas laugh like drunk uncles somewhere in the distance. The trip of a lifetime is 4x4ing somewhere in Africa.

They've got more photos of Birds than their own family. Their camera roll? 60% birds, 10% some weird bugs, 10% sunsets, 20% blurry photos of “something moving in the bush.” They'll passionately explain the hierarchy of the social weaver like it's Game of Thrones, and they've probably tried to “bond” with a vervet monkey (it didn't end well).

If it walks, slithers, flies, or stinks in the South African wild - they've chased it with binoculars, journaled about it, and probably named it Steve... or Larry.

The Idea
There are countless OutRoamers out there, people who love the wild just as much as we do, but don’t always have the time or means to deepen their knowledge. Life moves fast, but we’ve found that learning even one new fact about nature each day feeds the soul.

That’s why we created OutRoamer. A community built to help us all grow our bush knowledge in fun, accessible ways. Through engaging games, fascinating facts, and shared experiences, we’ll keep our love for the wild alive and thriving.

This isn’t a vanity project for those chasing perfect photos, unless those photos come with stories and insights that educate and inspire.
​
We’re all about good vibes here, no space for ego trips or putting others down. If that’s your thing, this isn’t your crowd. OutRoamer is a safe, welcoming space where nature lovers of all levels can share stories, swap knowledge, ask questions, and inspire each other to explore and connect even more deeply with the wild.
Conservation
Conservation lies at the heart of every OutRoamer. We all share the same struggle - watching the natural world that restores and inspires us being threatened at an alarming rate.

Each month, we'll shine a light on key conservation issues and raise awareness (funds), and/or provide our time to support those making a real difference on the ground. Together, we'll protect the very thing that keeps us grounded, the wild places we love.
